Gap years

This article was written by Sally Trowbridge and it deals with "gap years ". A gap year is a period of time, when students can do something different before going to university and it helps young people to maturate and be more independent. Many students choose to do voluntary works, also because they like to visit and see more of the world. Most students do part-time jobs to save up money for their trip or work at their destinations to pay food and accomodation. Julie Taylor before gradueting spent her gap year in Kenya and also climbed the Mount Kenya, she says that she's very happy that she didn't head off to universitry straigh, because she learnt a lot about herself. Beforehand she worked to pay the trip and so interviewers saw that she was able to get by on very little money and she showed determination and strenght, and now she's working as a manager in an international company.
I think gap years are very important for young people who are going to work, because in this year you can learn about yourself and see what you want to be in future. I think I will have a gap year too, so I'm going to try other experiences  and decide for my future.
